Per Norpriexia FC tab Paracetamol 450 mg, orphenadrine citrate 35 mg. Per Norpriexia Forte FC tab Paracetamol 650 mg, orphenadrine citrate 35 mg
Indications/Uses
Short term treatment of moderate pain, particularly after surgery & fever. Relieve pain due to skeletal muscle spasm. Musculoskeletal & joint disorders.
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ alcohol dependence, cardiac failure, coronary insufficiency, cardiac arrhythmia & tachycardia. Impaired kidney or liver function. Not recommended during pregnancy. Lactation.
Adverse Reactions
Paracetamol: Haematological reactions eg, thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, pancytopenia, neutropenia, & agranulocytosis. Skin rashes & other hypersensitivity reactions. Orphenadrine: Dryness of mouth w/ difficulty in swallowing & talking, thirst, reduced bronchial secretions, dilation of the pupils w/ loss of accommodation & photophobia, flushing & dryness of skin, transient bradycardia followed by tachycardia w/ palpitation & arrhythmia & difficulty in micturition, reduction in the tone & motility of GI tract leading to constipation.
Drug Interactions
Paracetamol: Increase toxicity w/ other potentially hepatotoxic drugs or drugs that induce liver microsomal enzymes. Increased absorption w/ metoclopramide. Altered excretion & plasma conc w/ probenecid. Reduced absorption w/ colestyramine. Orphenadrine: May decrease metabolism of bupropion to its major metabolites.
